I'm struggling with how to assign key features on a Redux 60% keyboard PCB via Vial.
Aside from typical QMK features, I need the following features: a numpad, mouse keys, and left-handed arrow keys. And "Tap Dance", preferably. But once I'm used to "Tap Dance", I think I wouldn't be able to use keyboards that support only VIA/QMK and it'd be a bit inconvenient for me.
Basically, I don't use Caps Lock in its standard position and assign Left Control there. Originally, that position was generally for the Control key back in the day. So I've assigned Long-press: Left Control and Short-tap: F14 (which is for "IME on") there for now. And yesterday, I came up with a good new idea for the position. I assign a new Layer there. On that layer, I arrange Control-based shortcuts on the left half and a numpad on the right half. Of course, Short-tap is F14, just like before. Well, thanks to this idea, I've dealt with my numpad issues.
When it comes to mouse keys, it's similar to the numpad settings. I assign "Long-press: a layer for mouse keys and short-tap: [;]" to the [;] key position.
